Founded in 2013 by practising software engineers Lesetse Kimwaga and Taher Moosa, our company was born from a frustration with an all-too-common problem: software projects that exceeded budgets, missed deadlines, and failed to deliver meaningful results. They set out to build a different kind of software company. One focused on solving business challenges, delivering measurable value, and creating solutions people actually use.

The mission of Anylytical Technologies is to provide solutions that match the business requirements. We want to solve our clients problems that keep them awake at night. The only way for this to be achieved, is for our Engineers to become subject matter experts. Our Engineers love to engage in conversations about the business. We love to hear the love, hate stories and even the politics that surround a business problem. The more we know and can identify with a business problem, the better solution we can provide.
Technology should merely be used as tool that enables business reach its target outcome or overcome a hurdle. The best software and technology in the world will not make a successful business. Software’s usefulness is based on how well it solves a particular problem and this is what adds value to an organisation. We see software and technology as tools to make businesses more efficient.
Our focus is on the business problem. If we understand the problem well enough, we definitely have the know how to build software to solve the problem.
Our Vision
To make software development as repeatable as a manufacturing line. Built by engineers who go an inch wide and a mile deep, mastering a few tools completely instead of chasing every new one.
The vision of Anylytical Technologies is to have put together a defined set of technical tools and processes that would be used to solve majority of our software projects. We aim to transform software development into a discipline that resembles a manufacturing line. Every engineer involved in the process, an expert in one particular area. Once this level of mastery is achieved, we only need to understand the business domain and then translate the problem into working software. The idea is not so much about knowing about every tool and technology out there but rather to achieve proficiency in the few tools we use.
The philosophy that we most likely identify with a a service provider is “Go an inch Wide and a Mile Deep”, meaning that we always strive to be have complete knowledge in what we use. We definitely don’t chase the latest and the greatest. Our preference is on understanding a technology in its entirety before jumping to the next best thing.

How We Got Here
The founders were practising Software Engineers who kept seeing the same pattern: well-resourced projects, staffed with great developers, still failing.
The interesting thing was that these projects were resourced with some of the best Software Developers.
So, why were these projects failing?
These projects were failing because the development team did not clearly understand the business requirements. The development team was building what they thought the business needed and never took the time and energy to really understand what business needed.
Learning from this, the founders set off on a path to start a software company that focuses on becoming subject matter experts before building any software solutions.
They were also of the opinion that the software engineers needed to know about the politics and gossip within the organisation as this also played a vital role in the success of a project.
